Overview
In the state of Georgia, the Hispanic population grew 120% since 1990. The Census Bureau also estimates that Georgia's Hispanic population soon will surpass 500,000. Atlanta is also well underway to become the next hub for Latinos in the United States.

According to "Latino Growth in Metropolitan America: Changing Patterns, New Locations," by the Washington-based Pew Hispanic Center, Atlanta's Hispanic population grew 995%, with about 269,000 Hispanics, from 1980 to 2000.
